Some people asked me to make a coloring tutorial, so I really made one! (I can't believe it..x_x..)
I know, it's not perfect because it's my first one. I hope it's not too complicated. Any questions? Then let me know in a comment!

This will work if one is using a mouse and Photoshop (like myself), one just has to be more creative with the tools. Thanks for posting this, now we know how to make lovely coloring jobs like you do.

Also, the colors you chose for the hair look very edible.

I never thought of coloring below the lineart, honestly. Although for someone who has to scan in hand-drawn lineart, it's not totally feasible.

I didn't notice too many errors, but I was too busy looking at the pretty pictures.

Yes, you need lines in a transparent background, that's very, very important! Otherwise drawing under the lineart layer won't be possible because the whole scanned image has a white background that blocks every other layer that lays underneath. There are scanners who are able to separate pixels before the scanning process and every white pixel becomes a transparent pixel. If your scanner doesn't have this function, you can simulate it very easily with Photoshop. PS seperates the black, the grey and the white pixel channels of the image with tonal correction! (Uhm..I don't know the correct Photoshop terms, my Photoshop is in German

)
Anyways, it's indeed possible to add a transparent background to a scanned picture! There's a great tutorial here on dA but I can't find it...

Well, actually, I have to photograph my art and adjust it a bunch, but I used to scan it (don't have the scanner right now) so I just call it that. With a little work, I can probably peel the lineart off.

Oh scanning is of course always better than a photograph. Have you ever tried to trace your scan/photographed image in a program?

It's probably hard to do without a tablet, but no, I've never even thought of that.
